Prof Sviland is a pathologist who provides the central facility for the histological and immunohistochemical assessment of skin explant biopsies.
Research areas:
- Grading of biopsies according to severity of GVHR.
- Immunohistochemistry to evaluate HSP 70 expression, apotosis and dendritic cells.
- Confocal microscopy and chimerism studies in collaboration with University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
